Southland Industries’ Mid-Atlantic Division Golf Tournament Raises $60,000 for Charity

The Mid-Atlantic Division of Southland Industries, one of the nation’s largest mechanical design-build engineering and construction firms, recently hosted its 2nd Annual Tee Off for Charity golf tournament. The tournament was held at Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket, Virginia and donations were split between the USO Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro) and the Southland Industries Scholarship fund.  The tournament attracted a full field of 144 participants and raised over $60,000 for charity.

Adrienne Trout, VP of Communications and Development for the USO said, “We are grateful to Southland Industries for supporting the troops and their families through USO-Metro.”  Trout added, “It is through the generous financial support of individuals and organizations in the local community that allows the USO-Metro to fulfill its mission.” Southland’s Mid-Atlantic Division Leader Mike Miller stated that "This year’s tournament certainly exceeded our expectations and we are absolutely thrilled with the turnout and support shown by our partners in the construction industry.”  Miller added that “Having the opportunity to be a part of building two of the region’s military healthcare facilities is an honor each day, but to be able to raise funds to assist injured service men and women and their families is even more satisfying to the employees at Southland.”
