Mid-Atlantic Division Awarded Arlington Service Center Project

Southland Industries’ Mid-Atlantic Division was recently awarded the Arlington Service Center (ASC) Project with HITT Contracting, Inc.  The Arlington Service Center will provide adequate space to accommodate the relocation of government personnel currently located in the Crystal Park 5 complex in Crystal Park, VA. The ASC project entails a Design-Build renovation of four existing buildings totaling approximately 270,000 sq. ft.

Southland’s scope of work will include the design and installation of the HVAC, plumbing, controls and fire protection systems as well as the final air and water balance.  Furthermore, Southland’s mechanical systems will be designed and built to comply with LEED Silver rating requirements and Energy Policy Act of 2005 provisions, including an energy reduction below ASHRAE 90.1 Guidelines.  The schedule on this project is extremely fast track and will require the design phase to start immediately. The targeted mobilization date is set for February 2011 and completion is set for July 2011.
