Army Corps of Engineers Commends Southland’s Performance

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) honored 12 Southland pipefitters for their work on the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital project at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The USACE recognized the pipefitters for their high standards of work quality on the hospital’s central utility plant, as well as their “paramount” safety efforts and awareness, according to John Scott, QA Representative with the USACE.

A ceremony was held in the central utility plant on March 3rd and the awards were presented by Philip F. Federle, USACE Program Manager. The pipefitting crew is led by Harry Jordan and includes Lael Claiborne, Vernon Collins, Jorge Melendez, Darron Witten, Charles Sasscer, Mario Zuniga, Aristides Martinez, Jobey Canfield, John Tyer, Horace Scott and Patrick Day.
