Southland Industries’ Southern California Division receives ASHRAE Award

Southland Industries’ Southern California Division received a first place award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Technology Awards Competition. The ASHRAE Technology Awards program recognizes ASHRAE members who design and/or conceive innovative technological concepts that are proven through actual operating data. Furthermore, Technology Award recipients must successfully communicate innovative systems designs to other ASHRAE members.

Southland’s Kaiser Downey Hospital in Downey, California met ASHRAE’s stringent criteria and was awarded first place in the Health Care Facilities (New and Existing) category for Region X. Led by Principle Engineer Matt Volgyi, the Southland team was able to design and build a truly innovative medical facility in a timely manner which will serve the residents of Downey for many years to come.
