Southland Industries’ Southern California Division receives ASHRAE Award
Southland Industries’ Southern California Division received
a first place award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating,
and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Technology Awards Competition. The
ASHRAE Technology Awards program recognizes ASHRAE members who
design and/or conceive innovative technological concepts that
are proven through actual operating data. Furthermore, Technology
Award recipients must successfully communicate innovative systems
designs to other ASHRAE members.
Southland’s Kaiser Downey Hospital in Downey, California met ASHRAE’s
stringent criteria and was awarded first place in the Health
Care Facilities (New and Existing) category for Region X. Led
by Principle Engineer Matt Volgyi, the Southland team was able
to design and build a truly innovative medical facility in a
timely manner which will serve the residents of Downey for many
years to come.
