About 100 Penn State University students will tour Southland Industries’ Mid-Atlantic office on Friday, March 17. The students are in their third year within the university’s architectural engineering program. They will tour the office, meet a few staff members, and attend a short presentation about the industry.

Southland Energy Awarded Comprehensive Energy and Water Saving Upgrades at St. Anne’s-Belfield School
Southland Energy, a division of Southland Industries, has been awarded a series of upgrades and replacements at St. Anne’s – Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia. As the first project awarded under VirginiaSAVES, a new program designed to reduce the cost of qualified energy efficiency projects and provide low- or no-cost long term financing, the project is completely self-funding and aims to reduce the school’s carbon footprint by 28 percent.
George Washington University Anticipates Utility Costs Savings of 40 Percent through Partnership with Southland Energy
The George Washington University recently awarded a performance-based design-build project at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, Virginia to Southland Energy.

In addition to Southland’s design-build team, the project includes M.C. Dean, Clark Construction, and Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.
Southland Industries has been named to the Washington Business Journal’s 2015 Book of Lists for Metro DC Engineering Firms. Southland Industries was listed the 24th top engineering firm ranked by the number metro-area registered engineers as of 2015. The Book of Lists consists of top companies in the area, arranged by industry, and is based on the company’s annual revenue, engineering billing, amount of registered engineers within the metro area and companywide, as well as the total number of employees.
