Las Vegas, NV
Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest MEP building systems experts providing engineering, construction, service, and energy service solutions recently named Steven Mulcahy as the new principal engineer of the company’s Southwest Division. Mr. Mulcahy will be responsible for managing Southland’s local engineering department, selling engineering work directly, and continuing to grow the division’s regional engineering capabilities.
With over 18 years in the mechanical and plumbing design and construction industry, Mr. Mulcahy brings his experience in design-build engineering, consulting engineering, and profound knowledge of the market to his new position. In past roles, he has been responsible for the daily operations of engineering teams, ensuring project managers met clients’ goals, and representing contractors on large design-build projects. Holding a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Mr. Mulcahy is a professional engineer and has also achieved his certification in plumbing engineering.
“I am very excited about this change and what it may bring us. Having first crossed paths with Steve during the construction phase of two of our major past projects, I am confident he will help align our division with our company goal of selling our engineering offerings as a standalone service,” stated Southwest Division Leader Nicolas Sfeir.
Specializing in integrated project delivery methods such as design-build, Southland offers its engineering and construction services independently. Engineering work performed previously by Southland’s Southwest Division includes complex casino and hospitality projects such as the M Resort and SLS Las Vegas.
