Southland Industries Awarded Social Security Data Center Project

Southland Industries' Mid-Atlantic Division was recently awarded the Social Security Data Center project in Urbana, Maryland. The project team, consisting of Hensel Phelps, M.C. Dean, SOM, Corgan, and Thornton Tomasetti, procured the Design-Build project via a two-step process through the General Services Administration. The team will be responsible for the design and construction of the 400,000 square foot data center that will also contain a small office building and a facility access control center. The project schedule spans 28 months with substantial completion slated for the spring of 2014.
