Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems experts recently hosted its 5th Annual Tee-Off for Charity Golf Tournament. The Mid-Atlantic Division of Southland held the tournament on September 19th at Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket, Virginia with proceeds going toward local non-profit organizations, Loudoun Youth, Inc. and Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. In total, the tournament raised approximately $55,000.
As an established business in Loudoun County, Southland chose Loudoun Youth Inc. and Loudoun Habitat for Humanity as the beneficiaries of the tournament's proceeds due to the their ongoing commitment to the local community. Southland’s Mid-Atlantic Division Leader, Mike Miller stated, “Southland continues to be grateful for the support that our clients, vendors and subcontractors in the construction industry provide us each fall. This year marked our fifth annual golf outing and we could not have been more excited to work with the Loudoun Habitat for Humanity and Loudoun Youth charities.” He continued, “Our employees felt especially connected to these organizations this year as many of them live and work locally in the area. We look forward to continuing relationships with both of these organizations in the future and providing them not only with financial support, but also employee volunteer time to help them impact Loudoun in a positive way.”
Since its inception in 2005, Loudoun Youth, Inc. has been working closely with partners throughout the community to develop and deliver youth programs that empower, connect, and provide leadership opportunities. Jared Melvin, the organization’s President and CEO affirmed, “Loudoun Youth Inc. is very excited about this new partnership with Southland Industries. These funds will be able to go directly to programs that will connect thousands of teens to a better future while building a better community right here where we live and work. The commitment of Southland’s leadership team to making a difference in the community is truly inspiring.”
Established under parent organization Habitat for Humanity International, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity relies on the generosity of dedicated volunteers to provide safe, affordable housing for all Loudoun County citizens in need.
