Mid-Atlantic Division Raises $2500 for SI Scholarship Fund

Dulles, VA

The Mid-Atlantic Division recently raised over $2,500 for the SI Scholarship Foundation during their 5th Annual Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament. The tournament was held at the Dulles office and drew over 50 players who played at either $50 or $100 tables. Half of the entry fees and buy-ins went to the scholarship program, while the other half was used to pay out the top three winners in each of the tournaments.

Accountant Dan Huggett won first place in the $100 tournament which is pretty amazing seeing that at one point he was down to just $11 in chips. Second place was claimed by an invited Southland guest, and Mike Hudson from Ferguson took third place.

Fadia Gobbi, wife of Project Manager Mark Gobbi, proved to manage her cards better than her husband and won the $50 tournament. Pipe fitting laborer Patrick Conklin secured second place and third place went to Project Engineer Tim Williams.

Overall the event was a great success and the Mid-Atlantic division would like to thank the following sponsors for their support: Ferguson, Joyce Agency, Victaulic, and Valley National Gas.
