The 2016 ASHRAE Winter Conference and AHR Expo draw industry professionals from around the world to advance personally and professionally. The conference will have new tracks focused on design-build practices and residential systems as well as programs that align well with current trends in HVAC&R engineering. Energy efficiency and sustainability are emphasized along with current engineering and construction practices outside of the U.S. and Canada.
Southland Industries’ Reza Ghias, Ph.D. and Ramin Rezaei will be discussing the results from their research titled ‘Optimization of Carbon Dioxide Removal Efficiency in a Displacement Ventilation System (OR-16-C003) on Sunday, January 24, 2016.
Additionally, Ghias will be joining Southland Industries’ Michael Kilkeary, P.E. and Robert Hutson, who will be discussing the findings from their research titled ‘CFD Design and Validation of a Thermal Storage Tank System and Its Impact in a Design-Build Project,’ on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. This session will showcase how a design-build project utilized computation fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling to determine the number of chilled water storage tanks required to supplement chillers in the event of a power outage.
